Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

Volunteer Opportunities

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a federally funded program of Americorps.  Established to help local communities by encouraging people age 55 and over to volunteer, RSVP membership has no restrictions based on income, education, experience, race, gender, or physical disabilities.

RSVP of the Lower Eastern Shore began in 1973 under the sponsorship of MAC Inc., the Area Agency on Aging.  RSVP continues to be an essential part of MAC’s vision for the future, which includes partnerships with organizations in the community to meet identified needs. RSVP of the Lower Eastern Shore has more than 150 volunteers who give more than 30,000 hours annually to local nonprofits and government agencies in the four-county area.

By becoming a volunteer with RSVP, older adults have an opportunity to donate their time, enthusiasm, talents, and expertise to the community and make an impact on the lives of those who need help the most.

Our volunteers work with children, the disabled, the elderly, and those in crisis. They provide tax preparation assistance, deliver Meals on Wheels, and provide respite care and companionship.

Eligibility:

  • Age 55 and older.
