VOLUNTEER SERVICES Our Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) coordinates volunteerism in Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties. Through RSVP, seniors 55 years of age or older are offered a variety of meaningful opportunities to donate their services to their communities. What makes this program unique is that the needs of each agency can be matched with the special interests of the volunteer. Participants can lend their expertise and enthusiasm to non-profit, private and public community organizations, offering an array of services to the community. RSVP offers continuous support to ensure that each volunteer's experience is a rich and rewarding one. The program offers public recognition of volunteers at our annual luncheon given in their honor. One special program available through RSVP recruits, trains and matches volunteers to visit lonely nursing home residents who have no close relatives or friends. About one hour of time per week with a nursing home resident will do so much to relieve the loneliness and frustration many older persons feel. For more information call 410-742-0505 extension 112 or
