Falls are the leading cause or injury and death for those age 65 and older, according to the National Council on Aging.
Falls also can lead to the loss of independent living. But even falls without injury can result in a fear of falling, which in turn can lead to depression, social isolation and physical decline, according to the NCOA.
You can take steps to prevent falls! The next Stepping On Fall Prevention workshop will be held at MAC, Fridays, from 10 a.m. to noon, July 26-Sept. 6.
For more information or to register for this free workshop, call MAC at 410-742-0505, ext. 131, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
