Ace Parker honored for service to Meals on Wheels

It is indeed with great pleasure that we announce the Mary Gladys Jones Volunteer of the Year Award was awarded to Mr. Ace Parker for his many years of dedicated service to others. Announcement was made at the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s annual meeting.

“Through his passionate desire to help those in our community who are most vulnerable, Mr. Parker has put thousands of hours into volunteer activities. As a member of the Rotary Club of Salisbury, he has led and participated in many service projects.

More than 20 years ago, he decided Rotary needed to become involved with the Meals on Wheels Program, growing the program to delivering more than 4,000 meals annually. Knowing the success of this program depends on those delivering the meals, he has personally recognized the efforts of all volunteers and continues to recruit new ones. Mr. Parker goes the extra mile, showing compassion for those who are less fortunate and encouraging other volunteers to do the same. Mr. Parker will receive a $1,000 gift to designate to the charity of his choice.”

Congratulation to Mr. Parker, and The Rotary Club of Salisbury, and a heartfelt thank you for caring about local seniors!
