Falls prevention, chronic pain self-management workshops both begin Wednesday

Classes in chronic pain self-management and falls prevention both begin Wednesday at MAC.

Learn how manage your chronic pain, decrease discomfort and increase your vitality!
The next Living Well Chronic Pain Self-Management workshop will be held Wednesdays, June 24 to Aug. 5, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., at MAC, Inc.
Topics will include: managing symptoms and challenges, exploring stress and relaxation techniques, practicing gentle exercises, setting goals and more.
This is a free program.
There will be limited seating and social distancing in the class setting, in accordance with Maryland and CDC guidelines in this era of COVID-19. The class is being held in MAC’s spacious sanitized dining room. Seating will be limited to one participant per table; tables will be spaced six feet apart. Those attending are required to wear a facemask.

In addition, a Stepping On fall prevention workshop also begins Wednesday.
Do you have a fear of falling? Have you fallen in the last year?
Are you age 50 or older, and live at home or in an independent apartment?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then MAC’s Stepping On Falls Prevention workshop is for you!
MAC will offer its next session of Stepping On from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 24 to Aug. 5. This is a free program.
Stepping On leaders will coach you to recognize your risk of falling, and help you build the physical strength and practical skills need to avoid falling.
Local experts, trained leaders and other group members support and encourage you to find solutions to make your home safer and your body stronger.
