Chronic Pain Self-

Management

The Chronic Pain Self-Management Program is based on the Chronic Disease Self Management Program (CDSMP) developed by Stanford University.  Different subject matters are taught over the course of 6 weekly, 2-1/2 hour sessions all focused to help each participant manage their pain, become more active and have more energy. This program covers both the physical aspect of managing chronic pain as well as the emotional aspect of managing pain. In addition, the curriculum provides information about what drugs can and cannot do in alleviating pain. The program also assists individuals understand that pain is interpreted by the brain and how efforts to reinterpret the pain can be helpful.

Eligibility:

  • This interactive and participatory program is for individuals who are living with pain every day.
  • This workshop is designed to help participants better manage their pain and become more active in their daily lives.

No transportation? No worries! As well as being offered in person, this class is also available virtually and via telephone. Please call for more information.
