Winter Institute: Origins of New Kingdom Egypt
January 15, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

The role of women in society has been a controversial topic since the days of ancient Egypt. This class will examine how the New Kingdom of Egypt came into being, the early pharaohs who created the New Kingdom and the role the female pharaoh Hatshepsut played in the power struggle of the early New Kingdom. This Winter Institute session is being presented by retired SU professor of History Dr. G. Ray Thompson.
