A simple phone call can make a meaningful difference.
MAC is proud to partner with the Salisbury Police Department on the Telephone Reassurance Program, a community-centered initiative that helps support the safety, well-being, and peace of mind of older adults and vulnerable residents in our area.
Through this program, participants receive regular check-in calls that offer more than just conversation. These calls provide reassurance, help reduce feelings of isolation, and create an added layer of support for individuals who may live alone, have limited support systems, or simply benefit from regular contact and connection.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to caring for our community in practical and compassionate ways. By working together, MAC and the Salisbury Police Department are helping ensure that local residents feel seen, supported, and connected.
The impact of this kind of outreach is already clear.
As Valerie Wagner shared, “In the past six months, we have had two clients who experienced falls. In both cases, our call to the emergency contact helped ensure they received needed medical attention.”
Moments like these highlight just how important regular check-ins can be. What may seem like a small gesture can become a critical link to help in a time of need.
At MAC, we believe strong communities are built through connection, compassion, and partnership. The Telephone Reassurance Program is one more way we are working alongside local partners to support individuals in living safely and independently with dignity and care.
We are grateful to the Salisbury Police Department for joining us in this important effort and helping strengthen the network of support available in our community.
